Management Team

Profile   Mr. David W. Nyland
President & Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Nyland is responsible for all aspects of Blueprint’s™ operations.

As a seasoned chief executive, Mr. Nyland spent three years as President & CEO of NBS Technologies, a publicly traded company involved in manufacturing and distributing hardware and software solutions for the payment and smart card industry with operations in Canada, USA, London, France, China and Brazil.

Before that, Mr. Nyland spent three years as SVP Operations at Syndesis Ltd, a privately held, VC-backed company providing fixed network software solutions to the global telecommunications industry. Prior to Syndesis, he held various executive-level R&D, operations and marketing positions over a five-year period at Architel Systems Corp, a VC-backed company providing next-generation network software solutions to the global telecommunications industry.

Mr. Nyland is from the UK, where he started his career as a management consultant with a five-year tenure at Accenture (previously Andersen Consulting). He holds a 1st Class B.Eng. in Manufacturing & Systems Engineering from Brunel University in London.


     
Profile   Mr. Matthew J. Morgan
Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer

Mr. Morgan is responsible for all aspects of Blueprint’s corporate marketing, product marketing, and strategic alliances.

Mr. Morgan is a 15 year marketing and product professional with a rich legacy of successfully driving multi-million dollar marketing, product, and geographic business expansion efforts. His tenure includes almost a decade at Mercury Interactive (which was acquired for $4.5B by HP Software), where he was the Director of Product Marketing for a $740 Million product category including Mercury’s Quality Management and Performance Management products.

In this role, Mr. Morgan drove the teams that created and launched many net-new products, including Mercury Functional Testing, Mercury Business Process Testing, new versions of Mercury QuickTest Professional and WinRunner, and the Mercury SAP and Oracle Test Accelerators for BPT. In his early days at Mercury, he built and managed one of Mercury’s first pre-sales organizations in the Southeast United States, supporting a $45M territory of large enterprise license sales into the Fortune 500 . Before Mercury, Mr. Morgan managed an IT development team in the Business Markets segment of MCI Telecommunications and started his career as a software engineer at Minolta QMS.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of South Alabama.


     
Profile   Mr. Robert L. Howatt
Senior Vice President, Wordwide Sales Operations

Bob Howatt is responsible for world-wide field and sales operations at Blueprint.

Mr. Howatt is a 25 year software professional who possesses a deep experience and ability in driving multi-million dollar software sales and geographic business expansion efforts. Mr. Howatt’s tenure includes four years as Regional Vice President, Sales at Mercury Interactive (which was acquired by HP Software). In this role, Mr. Howatt had overall responsibility in building the Application Performance Monitoring sales force where he managed a $100M territory.

Mr. Howatt also spent seven years as Regional Manager at Tivoli Systems (which was later acquired by IBM). During this time, Mr. Howatt was responsible for managing a large regional sales force that secured multi-million dollar deals within the financial services industry. Prior to working at Tivoli, Mr Howatt was Vice President, Sales at Revere Technologies during which time he doubled the company’s revenue over a two-year period. Mr. Howatt has also served in several senior sales positions throughout his career.

Mr. Howatt holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing & Finance from Boston College, Massachusetts.


     
Profile Image   Mr. Martin J. Crisp
Chief Technology Officer

Mr. Crisp is responsible for overall technology strategy, product design, and core IP development.

Mr. Crisp brings over 18 years of experience including CTO positions for iStark, a B2B eBusiness ASP solution for the Cement industry, BPS, which provides a web based solution for SOX, and The Kenna Group / Capital C, a marketing solutions provider.

In addition to these CTO positions, Mr. Crisp has been in senior positions with major systems integrators such as Accenture, Deloitte and Ajilon Consulting. In his most recent position prior to joining Blueprint, Mr. Crisp served as SVP Professional Services for Ajilon Consulting, where he was responsible for all service lines and industry sectors within Canada. In addition Mr. Crisp was a co-founder of a 50-person eBusiness Consulting company which was eventually sold to a large systems integrator to help seed their eBusiness practice in Canada.

This combined background of CTO positions and consulting helps ensure that Blueprint's products remain focused on addressing real-world issues.
